Vodka

Vodka is a highly rectified spirit of minimal impurities consisting mostly of water and ethanol. It is distinct from grain alcohol due to the fact that bottled grain alcohol has not been filtered or refined as necessary to be described as vodka.

Modern flavored vodkas became popular in the 1980s and arguably the most famous cocktail to come out of that era is the Cosmopolitan.
