- 1½ fluid ounces of a dark Jamaican rum or a blackstrap rum¹ or any blend of one or more of the aformentioned rums
- ¾ fluid ounce of Campari
- 1½ fluid ounces of fresh (or unsweetened, canned) pineapple juice
- ½ fluid ounce of fresh lime juice
- ½ fluid ounce of demerara gum syrup
Shake all of the ingredients with ice and pour (without straining) into a larger-sized lowball glass or double old fashioned glass. May be garnished with citrus or a maraschino cherry or pineapple fronds or chunks.
